MIRA MIRA will present a free clinic at the Pinhook in Durham on 12/19 prior to their headlining appearance at BLENDR that night. Their clinic, entitled “Sound System Culture,” will explore the birth of sound system culture in Kingston, Jamaica. By following the migration paths of this culture, participants will learn how modern club design, raves, and block parties are informed and developed. This clinic directly relates to MIRA MIRA’s craft as a DJ, producer, sound engineer, and organizer, and speaks to their connection to sound system culture in
terms of spaces they are involved in, such as the Karlala sound system.
