Spookstina
Spookstina is an experimental and experiential sound artist. Her pieces are an exercise in creating and decaying empathic drone; an exploration of impermanence. Improvised layers built in real-time from fragments of found sound, metal hardware, tiny toys, aural loops and bass & synth pulses. Spookstina has played fests and shows across the US, Mexico and Finland. She currently resides in Raleigh, NC.
Dumb Dog
Dumb Dog explores harsh noise and experimental performance art through a lens of queer and furry subcultures with a focus on intense, athletic performances, bodily extensions, and newly constructed instruments, such as amplified knives, feedback pianos, deconstructed guitars, and modified harnesses.
King of the Hole
The King rises as the sun sets on our daylight dystopia. The Hole is open and taking applications. Look within and see.
Gyna Bootleg
My name, Gyna Bootleg, as in Vagyna Bootleg, is exactly what it asserts; that this body is not what you see, but how I feel. I’m a non-binary pansexual with no formal training or apologies, and psychological atrophy that all lends to a lot of censored work. I’ve been publicly active (and deleted) for almost 20 years in multiple areas of music, art and performance. My work is a visceral, vomitous externalization of lived experience, including sex, violence, and identity, while also framing it in a socio-political context. I utilize blood and film developer as metaphor, meat and womb as perverse reality; feeding parts of finite self, piss, vinegar, hair, into the process of replicating reflection in a new image more real than just unattached bruised ghost. Sex work is work, literally. This body is a stain. And I am a constellation of scars etched by numbness, the dissociation allowing me to push my physical limits in order to scream, to pleasure, to dissent, to punish. Extraction methods of scabbed memories involving knives and speculums, are contact mic’d, providing a soundtrack to the narration of pain and depression, shocking only in its honesty. Everything as real as it can get. Anything to feel. False exorcism. Never catharsis.
Zenzi
Monthati Zenzi Masebe is a composer, pianist, vocalist, African indigenous instrumentalist, and researcher. They always tried to use art to find the intersection between all their influences and identity shaping. In their quest for queer acceptance in themselves as a pansexual womxn and for social belonging that acknowledges their contrasting rural and urban upbringing, they found solace in music.
