Maserati is a rock band formed in Athens, Georgia in the year 2000. Two decades and nine albums later the band is a five piece – Matt Cherry, Coley Dennis, Mason Brown, Mike Albanese and Chris McNeal (l-r below). Its members split their time between Athens, Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia and Lausanne, Switzerland.

Unwed Sailor (Bandcamp)

The instrumental post-rock ambience of Unwed Sailor has been guided by the vision of Johnathon Ford since its inception in 1998. Born in Oklahoma, Ford had been a member of Roadside Monument and Pedro The Lion. As a result of his own songs not melding with either, he formed Unwed Sailor in Seattle and has since been based in other cities including Chicago, Tulsa and New Orleans.

Ford has led Unwed Sailor in a myriad of instrumental directions over the past 26 years, from angular post-rock rhythms, to dream pop shoegaze soundscapes, to the sounds of homemade instruments playing storybook nursery rhymes. Though all these directions vary in style, all of Unwed Sailor’s albums share a certain melodic sensibility, a flavor that’s undeniably Ford’s, yet each its own unique place in creating the sound and vision of Unwed Sailor

Treasure Pains
Post-punk Hardcore band from Durham that’s melancholic and aggressive. Pulling influences from bands such as Hot Snakes, Fiddlehead, and Drug Church. Featuring members from Youth League, Wovlesx4, and Oort Patrol

Maple Stave
Durham NC’s Maple Stave have been developing their dynamic, dense, restless style for 20 years. Heavy, tense, patient, and frantic, their take on melodic, complex music owes a debt to the sounds of 1990s Louisville KY, Chicago’ Touch and Go roster, and Olympia’s Unwound, but has become something very different from its roots. Described variously as “defined by precision” (Grayson Haver Currin, Indyweek), “full of seething urgency and artful arrangements” (Mike Breen, Cincinnati CityBeat), and “post-metal, in a hardcore vein” (someone outside a club in Athens GA who was unaware they were standing next to the drummer), the band is releasing Arguments, their first recording in seven years and proof that they have not mellowed with age.
