Legends of Drag!

The Legends of Drag take over The Pinhook to celebrate the icons of North Carolina drag!    Nicole Paige Brooks & Vivica Coxx will emcee the all-star revue, featuring performances by local legends Kelly Ray, Dana St. James, Ebony Addams, and Jamie Monroe. Shawnna Brooks (ATL) and Sharde Ross (FTL) return to their home state to complete the stacked lineup.   Legends of Drag: Queens of a Certain Age is a new photography book & archive of living drag history, profiling 81 queens In 16 cities, including Raleigh/Durham. The work has been featured in the New York Times, Vogue (twice), and Harper’s Bazaar. Since the book launch in 2022, the Legends of Drag tour has visited 15 destinations and counting. Saints and Sinners Burlesque Show

Groovy Tomb Productions returns to The Pinhook to host a devilishly good time! Join us for a Saints & Sinners themed variety show like you’ve never seen before. Featuring one-of-a-kind burlesque and drag performances by Miss Blue Bell, Kritter Mortis, Clint Torris, Millie Pede, Ace of Hearts, Kiki St. Pierre, Erisaku Blu, Boom-Boom Bathory & your host Pretty Rik E.! Dress in your best angel, devil, god, demon, or whatever your concept of Saints & Sinners may be for a chance to win awesome prizes. Don’t want to dress up? Don’t worry! Sometimes we’re open and just want to hang out.  We have JENGA / CONNECT FOUR lol and other weird games.  A back patio.  A TV.  Some places sit and gossip and trash talk and cry or whatever you feel like doing.  We have a ton of N/A drinks.  And A drinks.  We have a queer has hell community.  We have a disco ball.  You can bring your dog.  You can bring your food.  You can bring your journal.  Or your paints.  Just come coze w/ us.  Nothing like just being a queer fucking bar.

There’s no audition, just show up and sing with a bunch of other lovely strangers. They’ll soon become friends! Together, we form an ad hoc chorus and are never the same group twice. Everyone is welcome at PopUp Chorus, regardless of ability. At our weekly Monday night events, participants arrive and “learn” parts and harmonies for two songs, a well-known pop song and an indie song, under the skillful tutelage of conductors, Carter Hodge (Dissimilar South) and Kayla Richardson-Piche. When everyone is ready, we do a live-streamed performance video. Our credo? Embrace imperfection and have FUN! Stay in the loop.
