Join us @durhamprisonletters this sunday on the 21st for January’s letter writing event! We will be partnering with @nctransmutualaid again and are hoping to help foster consistent writing connections for folks so if this is something you’re interested in/plan on coming regularly every month let us know 🙂 We’ve got a loooot of birthdays this month and would love for everyone on the list to get a birthday letter. Recipients on our mailing list this month include Jacob Montgomery who is serving time from the Ferguson riots, Marius Mason a notable environmental anarchist, Joseph ‘Joe-Joe’ Brown a BLA prisoner serving two life sentences for the assassination of a prison warden and attempted prison break, long time prison rebel Siddique Abdullah Hasan, among many others! From @durhamprisonletters:As part of a week of events leading up to May Day, this month we’ll be focusing on sending letters of love and solidarity to prisoners of the 2020 uprising. We’ll also be tabling texts by some of those inside, and resources on how to stay safe(r) and dangerous in the face of state repression . For over a year, we’ve been organizing events in order to get more mail to long-term rad prisoners, spread awareness about state repression, and provide a space for anti-state ppl to meet each other and build relationships.If you’d like to join our efforts and expand the kinds of solidarity, anti-repression work, and movement defense that we’re capable of, come to our april event and stick around for a brief planning meet-up afterwards!
